| Charleston every year experiences one or another new event. This place is famous for its food festival. Last year's Charleston Food + Wine Festival was started on 1st of March, 2007. Festival committee got the Charleston magazine as the co-sponsor of this food festival. At the official poster competition, artists residing in Dorchester, Berkeley and Charleston can submit their painted posters in this competition.

A panel of judges appointed by Charleston Food + Wine Festival committee judged the submitted posters. Primary criteria of selection of the poster was that these posters should bear the basic features of culinary art of Charleston. Culinary history of this place should be reflected in this posters. The winners of this poster competition received a cash value of $1,000. They will also receive letters of recognition. 12 T-shirts and 50 posters were also distributed among the winners. The posters of the winners got the recognition as the official posters of this festival. Last date of submitting the poster for the completion of 2007 was September 15, 2006. This poster competition of Charleston Food + Wine Festival had no entry fee.
Schedule of Charleston Food + Wine Festival
The food and wine festival started on the 1st of March, 2007. In the opening ceremony of 2007 16 top chefs of Charleston were showcased. This program ran from 7o'clock to 10o'clock in the evening. Delicacies made by selected chefs and high class wine of Charleston were served to the guests. The guests also enjoyed the live performance of the famous musicians. This was held at main tent of the Charleston cooks culinary village. Tickets were sold at $100.
Programs held on March 2, gave focus on the different aspects of hospitality industry. Day's program started at 10A.M. in the Marion Square. The opening ceremony includes seminars on different aspects of hospitality industry. These seminars discusses about the role of chefs, waiters, sommeliers, marketers and owners in the hospitality industry. In the programs of the afternoon session limited access to Charleston Cooks! Culinary Village was allowed
On the next day the Charleston Cooks! Culinary Village became open for all guests. This place remained opened from 11.00AM to 6 PM in the evening. This village is known as the heart of Charleston Food + Wine Festival. This is the place where more than 80 food related business units are located. These 80 business units include wineries and top restaurants. In the closing ceremony on 4rth march the guests lined up in front of the barbecue from 4 PM to 7PM. at the Charleston Cooks! Culinary Village.
