The first step to making 'Buttery Buttermilk Biscuits' is to prepare the butter. The stick of butter is to be cut out into one-fourth inch cubes. In a large bowl, the flour and the baking powder is mixed well and then the butter folded in. One may use their hands to make the dough or use a food processor. When the mixture becomes coarse to feel,gently add the buttermilk. When a soft dough has been made, roll it out, about half inches thick, on a work surface that has been sprinkled with flour.
The dough can also be wrapped in plastic and refrigerated for half an hour to make the biscuits more crisp. Use a biscuit cutter, which is 2 ½ to 3 inches in size, to cut out shapes for the biscuit. The cutter should be lightly floured and dipped in flour every time, when cutting out the biscuits. The biscuits are then to be placed on a baking tray that has been lined with parchment paper. The excess dough, that is left after cutting out, can be rolled again and laid out to make more biscuits.
