2 ¼ cups of all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup chilled buttermilk
¼ cup sugar
1 and 1/2 sticks unsalted butter—10 tablespoons cut into 1/2-inch cubes and chilled, 2 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter.
Grated zest from 1 lemon
1 teaspoon salt according to taste
Flaky salt, such as Maldon for sprinkling over the sweet lemon-poppy biscuits.

Preparation process of sweet lemon-poppy biscuit:

To prepare sweet lemon-poppy biscuits, you have to preheat the oven to 425 degree Celsius. This will help in the baking process of biscuits. After heating the oven, take a shallow bowl and add flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and sugar into this bowl. Then, add the chilled butter into this. After that, blend this mixture properly to give it a creamy texture. Add the grated zest and poppy seeds to this mixture. Blend this mixture until the dough becomes perfectly moistened. After preparing a tightly shaped dough, pat the dough into a half inch thick disk.

After placing the dough into the disk, cut the dough by using a floured 2 ¼ inch round cookie cutter. Gently press these pieces to form the shape of biscuit. Shift these shapes of biscuits to a large baking sheet and brush the tops of the biscuits with melted butter. Lightly sprinkle a few grains of flaky salt onto the biscuits and chill out around 10 minutes until firm. Bake these biscuits for 20 minutes in the preheated oven until these turn brown. After baking, take out these sweet lemon-poppy biscuits and let the biscuits cool before serving these in front of the guests. Try out this in your home and enjoy happy moments with your family and friends.
